Hi!

I’m Josefine and I’m the artist behind Yumione Art. I create small and cozy paintings in gouache, still learning new things as I go.

Through my paintings I want to express my deep appreciation of nature and love of the whimsy. I aim to capture moments that might feel calm and nostalgic, while encouraging to notice the small spaces in between; the spaces that often go unnoticed in a busy world.

I’ve opened my shop to share this appreciation with you, offering pieces to bring wonder and calmness into your space.

I came up with ‘Yumione’ back in 2019 as a combination of two words: Yume and Hermione.

‘Yume’ being the word for dream in Japanese, serving as a nod to my deeply rooted fascination and love of the country and dream of becoming and artist.
While ‘Hermione’ was a key figure of admiration in my childhood – the source of my captivation with magic, herbs, and old buildings (although JKR turned out to be a real letdown, huh?).

So that was a short introduction into my space, really I’m just someone who gets a little too excited about mossy rocks and curating sketchbooks full of half-finished ideas.
